Refund policy

This Return and Refund Policy applies to qualifying purchases made through eduthreads.shop.

We want customers to understand clearly how cancellations, returns and refunds are handled.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes rights available to consumers under applicable UK law.

14-Day Statutory Cancellation Right

For most qualifying goods purchased online, UK consumers have a statutory right to cancel the purchase without giving a reason.

The cancellation period generally expires 14 days after the day on which the customer, or a person nominated by the customer other than the carrier, receives the goods.

Where multiple goods forming one order are delivered separately, the relevant cancellation period may begin after receipt of the final qualifying item, where required by applicable law.

To exercise the cancellation right, the customer must communicate a clear decision to cancel before the applicable cancellation period expires.

Customers may do so by emailing:

info@eduthreads.shop

The customer is not required to use specific wording, provided the communication clearly identifies the order and communicates the decision to cancel.

Returning Goods After Cancellation

After notifying us of a qualifying statutory cancellation, customers should return the goods without undue delay and ordinarily within 14 days after communicating the cancellation.

Please contact info@eduthreads.shop before sending a return so that the appropriate return instructions and return destination can be provided.

Products should not be returned to an address found independently on packaging, a shipping label or another website unless we have confirmed that it is the appropriate return destination.

Condition of Change-of-Mind Returns

Consumers are entitled to inspect goods in a manner reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, broadly comparable to the inspection that could reasonably occur in a physical shop.

Customers should therefore take reasonable care of goods while they remain in their possession.

Where handling goes beyond what is reasonably necessary and causes diminished value, an appropriate deduction may be made from the refund where permitted by law.

Opening ordinary packaging solely to reasonably inspect a product will not automatically eliminate a statutory cancellation right.

Return Shipping Costs for Change-of-Mind Returns

For qualifying change-of-mind returns under the statutory cancellation right, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods, except where applicable law requires us to bear that cost or where we expressly agree otherwise.

Customers are encouraged to use a reliable and traceable return service.

The customer should retain appropriate proof of postage or shipment until the refund has been completed.

Faulty, Damaged, Incorrect or Misdescribed Goods

The change-of-mind cancellation rules are separate from customers' legal rights concerning faulty or non-conforming goods.

If a product:

  • Arrives damaged;
  • Is faulty;
  • Is materially different from its description;
  • Is materially different from the product ordered;
  • Is not of satisfactory quality;
  • Is not fit for a purpose made known where the law requires it to be fit for that purpose; or
  • Otherwise fails to comply with applicable statutory requirements,

please contact info@eduthreads.shop as soon as reasonably possible.

Customers should provide the order number, a description of the problem and, where reasonably useful, photographs showing the issue.

We may provide an appropriate remedy according to the circumstances and applicable law, including a refund, repair or replacement.

Where goods are legitimately returned because they are faulty, damaged, incorrect or otherwise non-conforming, customers will not be required to bear return costs where the law requires those costs to be borne by the trader.

30-Day Short-Term Right to Reject Faulty Goods

UK consumer law provides consumers with a short-term right to reject qualifying goods that fail to conform to the contract.

For many goods, this statutory short-term period is generally 30 days, subject to the detailed conditions and exceptions provided by law.

This right is distinct from the 14-day distance-selling cancellation right.

After the short-term rejection period, consumers may continue to have statutory rights to remedies such as repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending on the circumstances.

Nothing in this policy is intended to reduce those rights.

Items Excluded From Change-of-Mind Cancellation Rights

Certain products may be excluded from the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right where UK law provides an exception.

Examples can include:

  • Goods made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised;
  • Goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly;
  • Sealed goods not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons where the seal has been broken after delivery;
  • Sealed audio, video or computer software products where the seal has been broken;
  • Newspapers, periodicals or magazines other than certain subscription arrangements; and
  • Other products specifically excluded by applicable law.

An exception to the change-of-mind cancellation right does not remove legal remedies that may apply if the goods are faulty or otherwise non-conforming.

Hygiene and Sealed Products

Where a statutory hygiene exception applies, a sealed item may lose its change-of-mind return eligibility after the customer breaks the relevant seal.

The exception will be applied only where legally applicable.

A product will not be treated as automatically non-returnable merely because its packaging has been opened if the statutory conditions for the hygiene exception are not satisfied.

Refund Amount

For a valid statutory cancellation, we will refund amounts required by applicable law.

Because standard shipping on eduthreads.shop is free, there is normally no standard outbound shipping charge to refund.

Where the customer has paid for an optional additional service or premium delivery method beyond our free standard service, any reimbursement of that additional amount will be determined in accordance with applicable law.

Refund Timing

For returned goods following a qualifying cancellation, refunds will generally be made within the time required by applicable law.

We may be entitled to withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned goods or the customer provides evidence that the goods have been sent back, whichever occurs first, where permitted by law.

For other refunds, processing begins after the claim has been reviewed and approved.

Refund Method

Refunds will ordinarily be issued to the original payment method used for the transaction unless another method is expressly agreed and legally permitted.

After we process a refund, banks, credit-card providers and payment processors may require additional time to post the refunded amount to the customer's account.

That external processing time is outside our direct control.

Exchanges

Where an exchange is appropriate and stock is available, we may offer a replacement or exchange.

Customers who wish to exchange a product should first contact:

info@eduthreads.shop

Statutory rights remain unaffected regardless of whether an exchange is offered.

Order Cancellations Before Dispatch

Customers who wish to cancel an order before it has been dispatched should contact us as soon as possible at:

info@eduthreads.shop

We will make reasonable efforts to stop processing where possible.

If an order has already entered fulfilment or has been dispatched, the customer may need to follow the applicable post-delivery cancellation and return procedure.

Refused and Unclaimed Deliveries

Refusing a parcel or failing to collect it does not necessarily constitute a valid exercise of the statutory cancellation right.

Customers should communicate their intention to cancel directly to us at info@eduthreads.shop.

Additional costs caused by an unreasonable failure to receive a properly addressed delivery may be handled in accordance with applicable law.

Incorrect Address

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate and complete shipping address during checkout.

If an address error is discovered, please contact us promptly.

We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after fulfilment begins.

This provision does not affect rights where a delivery problem was caused by us or by a carrier acting on our behalf.

Return Fraud or Abuse

We reserve the right to investigate suspected fraudulent or abusive return activity, including deliberate damage, false claims, substitution of products or misuse of return procedures.

Any action taken will remain subject to applicable consumer law, and legitimate statutory rights will not be refused merely because a customer exercises them.
